Reinforcing their commitment to responsible mobility, Kia Charge now offers access to one million charging points across 27 countries in Europe which also includes the high-power IONITY network.
The network is made up of more than 55,000 points here in the UK, making charging more convenient and reliable than ever. It also supports the wide range of Kia’s dedicated electric vehicles that include the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9 and PV5.
The user-friendly Kia App makes the charging process far simpler and integrates Kia’s digital services to create a seamless experience with charging sessions starting automatically once connected to a compatible charging point. Kia offers access to AC, DC and high-power charging with a flexible and future-ready solution so that drivers can choose from the free Easy tariff or upgrade to Plus.
The app has become an everyday companion for Kia EV drivers by bringing together Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book and the Kia Owner’s Manual into a single, user-friendly platform.
Whether you are driving at home or abroad in Europe, you are now able to locate charging points, track charging sessions, manage subscriptions and plan journeys with charging options along the way.
The Kia EV Route Planner helps manage long trips, with the vehicle’s navigation system detecting charging stations along your journey’s route and automatically adds them as waypoints. You can also set a target battery charge level from the map view, both for your destination and for each selected charging stop along the way.
Marc Hedrich, President & CEO of Kia Europe, said:
“Achieving one million charging points represents a significant milestone that underlines Kia’s commitment to providing our EV customers with a comprehensive ecosystem of public, residential, and depot charging solutions. This accomplishment highlights our contribution to advancing e-mobility and facilitating the shift toward more sustainable transportation solutions.”
Use of the IONITY high-power charging network is also included in the service, giving access to 5,000 charging points across Europe with the aim to expand the network to 13,000 stations by the end of 2030. IONITY also offers its own subscription packages in the Kia App, including IONITY Power and IONITY Ultra with reduced monthly and per-kWh rates.
Kia owners can charge their car by simply plugging in the charging cable at select charging point operators through Plug&Charge to help remove any hassle with no charging card or app required for authentication.
For the environmentally conscious, Kia Charge ensures that EV charging is powered by electricity that comes from renewable energy sources. Charging is supplied with 100 per cent renewable electricity at all IONITY stations.
