Following its appearance and premier at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering last month at the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, California, the Nevera R, which is the latest addition to the Nevera family, has embarked on its tour of the northeastern United States, showcasing the car in New York City’s iconic Times Square.
Making its way to Long Island for The Bridge classic car show this weekend, the electric hyper sportscar will then follow up with stops at local showrooms in Rimac Greenwich, Connecticut in partnership with Miller Motorcars, and Rimac New York, Manhattan, in collaboration with Manhattan Motorcars.
Founder and CEO of Rimac Group, Mate Rimac commented:
“The Nevera represents a landmark in automotive performance: a record-shattering car capable of setting new standards at the Nürburgring Nordschleife while also providing the comfort to drive thousands of miles across continents. When we set out to re-engineer this hyper-GT, we turned to our customers for feedback. We were challenged to further expand on the Nevera’s driving capabilities with increased cornering performance and the latest in-car technology. So, the Nevera R was born. We unveiled this passion project during Monterey Car Week in August, and now we are excited to bring the Nevera R to one of the largest hypercar markets in the United States during its East Coast debut.”
Building on the success of its predecessor, the Nevera R is designed for cornering and even quicker straight-line performance, which means that the car will reach 186mph (300km/h) in an astonishing 8.66 seconds. This is achieved by the next generation 108kWh Rimac battery pack which gives the car an impressive 2,107 hp to enhance what this car is capable of achieving.
The Nevera R has been designed with an aggressive aero package that includes a fixed rear wing and large diffuser which increases downforce by 15% and aerodynamic efficiency by 10%, while the Michelin Cup 2 tyres reduce understeer by 10% and lateral grip increases by 5%. The next-generation Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring has been adjusted to take advantage of these high-performance tyres, while the EVO2 carbon ceramic brakes allow the Nevera R to shave 3.8 seconds from the Nevera’s Nardo Handling Track time.
The Nevera R’s exterior features a lower, sleeker appearance designed with clean surfaces and perfect proportions to give it a quite aggressive look. The car’s interior can be customised to enhance the driver-focused design with a variety of colour and trim options to suit the buyer’s individual taste, which even includes painted carbon to match the car’s exterior.
The performance of the Nevera R is truly impressive with the 0-62mph (0-100km/h) sprint achieved in just 1.81 seconds, 0-124mph (0-200km/h) in 4.38 seconds and the standing start 1⁄4 mile in a mind boggling 8.23 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 256mph (412km/h). This is a seriously fast car to say the least!
Limited to just 40 units worldwide, the Nevera R has a starting price of €2.3 million. For more information, please visit: www.rimac-automobili.com.
