Pininfarina Unveil Latest Battista Electric Hypercar

Automobili Pininfarina CEO Michael Perschke unveils the latest Battista electric hypercar along with the luxury brand’s strategy for future growth during Monterey Car Week which started today in sunny California before heading to the House of Automobili Pininfarina near Pebble Beach on August 15th. It is billed as being the biggest celebration to date of Pininfarina’s past, present and future.

Design Director Luca Borgogno will also be presenting Automobili Pininfarina’s PURA Vision design model at the House of Automobili Pininfarina near Pebble Beach, of what is to come from the pure-electric luxury car brand.

Michael Perschke said: “We are excited to be back in Pebble Beach at the House of Automobili Pininfarina. We will celebrate the breath-taking design heritage of Pininfarina whilst presenting our PURA Vision – a design model that shows how Automobili Pininfarina will channel historic inspiration into a vision of the future of automotive luxury.”

Pininfarina Battista on the road

There will be a line-up of classic Pininfarina-designed cars at Monteray Car Week as the latest Battista design model makes its debut in North America and the first time US clients will get to see the Battista since its most recent enhancements as a result of wind tunnel tests. The aerodynamic performance plays an important part in increasing the car’s target range of over 300 miles or 450 kilometres on a single charge.

There will be a special drive featuring Pininfarina owners and their cars on a four-hour circular route on Thursday 15th August starting at 1pm local time as they make their way to the House of Automobili Pininfarina.

Battista's Interior

Luca Borgogno said that “Defining Automobili Pininfarina’s future design vision has been by far my most exciting challenge as a car designer. With PURA Vision we aim to respect and reflect the elegance and purity that defines every Pininfarina design.”

“Our guests may recognise hints of various iconic Pininfarina designs in some of the sketches and the PURA Vision model. We want the connoisseurs of our past to embrace our thrilling future as a brand that celebrates beautiful design above all else.”

Next year only 50 Battistas are planned to be available in Europe, with 50 in North America and 50 in the Middle East and Asian markets. With a price tag of €2m, the hypercar will be available to order through a small network of specialist luxury car and hypercar retailers.

The Battista will also be one of the most powerful Italian sports cars ever built, with 1,900hp and 2,300Nm of torque. It is capable of standing start 0-100kmh time of less than 2 seconds and of course it achieves this with zero emissions.

If your wallet stretches that far and you love the design of this extraordinary car then you are invited to apply to own a Battista using the online service on their website, alternatively if you would like to find out more about the Battista then please visit www.automobili-pininfarina.com
