The 2019 CarFest took place at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire over this last August Bank Holiday weekend and is an event very much geared towards families having a fun day out.
CarFest was founded by DJ and self-confessed petrolhead Chris Evans, and is a weekend packed with cars and music and plenty to keep both kids and parents occupied.
This year’s event showcased a collection of cars from Jody Scheckter, dating back from his motor racing days in the brand-new Motorsport Paddock, celebrating Grand Prix Through The Ages. The South African driver raced in Formula One for nine years, between 1972 and 1980 and won the Drivers’ Championship in 1979, driving for Ferrari. This year Jody Scheckter is celebrating the 40th anniversary of that historic championship win.
These photographs taken by our motor racing photographer Gary Harman, who was at this year’s event, are of Jody’s world championship winning 1979 Ferrari F1 312-T4 MAT-40.
