All-New Koenigsegg Gemera UK Debut At Salon Privé

Koenigsegg will be showcasing the all-new Gemera, the world’s first ‘mega GT’ at this year’s Salon Privé Week at Blenheim Palace in September where it will make its UK debut.

This is the Swedish carmaker’s first four-seat model and is bound to turn heads at the show. The name ‘Gemera’ comes from the Swedish words for ‘give more’, and there is no doubt that this precisely what this supercar will do. Not only has it been engineered to give megacar performance but the fact that is also comes with a spacious interior and next-generation environmental technology, means that it does not suffer from some of the shortcomings and impracticalities other supercars have. This is a revolutionary new car that can whisk four people and their carry-on luggage from 0-100kph in a staggering 1.9 seconds!

The Gemera is not powered by a big V8 or V12 like many other supercars, but by a humble two-litre, three-cylinder engine named the ‘Tiny Friendly Giant’ or TFG for short. It is able to run on both conventional petrol as well as the very latest CO2-neutral renewable fuels, designed to be super-efficient and give off exceptionally low emissions.

TFG is complemented by three electric motors which gives the combined powertrain a total output of 1700bhp, with an immense 3500Nm of torque. The car drives through the patented single-gear Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) transmission and is even fitted with a lightweight 800V battery that enables the Gemera to run on electricity alone for up to 50 kilometres. Alternatively, it can drive an additional 950 km at highway cruise speed in hybrid mode, giving it a superb and highly practical 1000 km range.

The Gemera, designed for worldwide homologation, is based around a carbon fibre monocoque and features six smart airbags, stability control, traction control, ABS and ADAS 2.5. The car is all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and all-wheel torque vectoring.

SuperVettura, the official UK dealer for Koenigsegg, will be on site throughout the week of Salon Privé, available to share their expert knowledge on this supercar.
