Tucked away amongst the boutiques and galleries of Mayfair, you will find a rather exclusive and unique showroom – that of H.R. Owen Bugatti London – the UK’s only official Bugatti retailer which opened four years ago.
The showroom recently hosted a private customer preview event for the new Chiron Pur Sport, and is the only place in the UK you will be able to see the car. So rare is this Bugatti in fact, that only 60 examples of this rather aggressive looking, radical, and dynamic car will be manufactured.
The new Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport was unveiled earlier this year and features technological improvements to the chassis, gearbox and engine, and is billed as the most agile and uncompromising Chiron ever produced. New additions include lightweight exhaust tailpipes made of 3D-printed titanium and magnesium wheels, which help to cut weight and improve the car’s performance. The Chiron’s interior has been deliberately created to have a raw look with the extravagances you’d normally see on a car of this price-tag reduced to the bare minimum. For example, surfaces that would normally be covered in leather are upholstered in lightweight Alcantara in order to achieve maximum weight reduction. You will even find dynamic patterns lasered onto the door panels with contrasting fabric highlights to give a metal look.
Bugatti changed the chassis set-up radically and developed a new gearbox for the Chiron Pur Sport, meaning all the gears have been shortened by 15%, giving the car more dynamic handling and further improved power distribution. What this means is that it can accelerate in sixth gear from 60 to 120 km/h three seconds faster than the standard Chiron. To help with the extra power and handling, the Chiron Pur Sport has also been fitted with newly developed Michelin Sport Cup 2 R tyres as to ensure maximum cornering ability.
The Chiron Pur Sport has a massive 1,500 hp at 6,900 rpm and 1,600 Nm of Torque and is capable of a top speed of 218mph (350km/h) which is electronically limited.
As one of the world’s top Bugatti retailers, Bugatti London features a number of rather interesting pieces from the Bugatti Home Collection, such as specially designed armchairs made of the finest leather and blue carbon fibre. The showroom also reflects Bugatti’s history and heritage, with a selection of art installations and sculptures that celebrate the brand. If you step inside H.R. Owen Bugatti in Mayfair, you will immediately notice that it is much more than just a car showroom, as it is designed to convey a shared passion for the Bugatti brand and everything it stands for.
As H.R. Owen CEO, Ken Choo, said: “To represent an illustrious brand like Bugatti has always been a privilege for us, and we’re honoured to be able to offer our customers the unique opportunity to see the Chiron Pur Sport in the UK. Since 1932, H.R. Owen has stood for only the best and we’re delighted that the manufacturer of some of the world’s most advanced and exclusive cars trust us to be their sole UK partner.”
