Volkswagen has chosen Bridgestone as the tyre supplier for the brand’s first-ever electric GTI.
The new Volkswagen ID. Polo GTI, which was unveiled at the Nürburgring during the recent 24-hour race, will be equipped with bespoke Potenza Sport tyres.
These premium tyres have been specially engineered to pair with the GTI’s sporting DNA to give the car high performance with optimal grip, braking and tyre wear as well as reduced road noise.
The new tyre has been developed and manufactured in Italy and incorporates Bridgestone’s ENLITEN technology and was designed using the company’s proprietary Virtual Tyre Development technology.
The all-electric and powerful ID. Polo GTI has been created for ultimate driving pleasure and just like its petrol predecessor it is front-wheel drive with the added benefit of being fitted with an electronic front differential lock and adaptive dynamic chassis control.

The front of the car has been completely redesigned and is now fitted with exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, diffuser and a roof spoiler for that added sporty touch.
Inside, the cockpit has plenty of red GTI accents such as the premium sport seats, high-quality materials and GTI-specific displays. There is a new multifunction sports steering wheel along with a clear arrangement of all functions together with real buttons, so you don’t have to hunt for basic functions on a complicated screen menu. The new Polo is also fitted with assistive systems such as Connected Travel Assist or Park Assist Pro as well as steering wheel buttons to operate the air conditioning.
You can expect a driving range of up to 280 miles, depending on the specification package and battery. And fast charging will give you from between 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes with up to 105 kW DC.
