North of England based Davanti Tyres, a leading mid-range tyre brand here in the UK, has just announced a brand-new technical and commercial partnership with the MINI CHALLENGE CLUBSPORT, starting in January 2025.
This three-year contract will see the Davanti Protoura Race tyre being used as the new control tyre of the championship, supplied and fitted by BMTR Motorsport.
This is Davanti’s first-ever track tyre that has been created specifically for its unbeatable proficiency on the track with a semi-slick design which all competitors of the championship will be required to compete on.
This new race tyre has a directional tread pattern that provides superior control in wet weather conditions. In addition, it has enhanced carcass strength to provide drivers with direct feedback whilst giving superior control under the high cornering forces racing cars experience on the racetrack. The Protoura Race tyre also has a new compound with added grip to give greater braking and acceleration power.
Being commercial sponsor for MINI CHALLENGE CLUBSPORT, all the race cars will additionally feature Davanti Tyres decals, strengthening Davanti’s brand visibility and image at race weekends with their iconic Davanti orange.
Next season’s championship opening round will take place at Silverstone on the weekend of 17th and 18th May 2025 which is sure to provide plenty of close and competitive racing.
Each race weekend during the season consists of a free practice session, followed by a qualifying session and then three races.
Sean Maddocks, Davanti Tyres Sales Director for UK & Ireland, commented:
“Announcing this partnership with the MINI CHALLENGE CLUBSPORT championship has been highly anticipated at Davanti Tyres. We’re all so proud of the Protoura Race – our first ever track tyre – and to be named as the official control tyre of this competitive championship is a real milestone moment.
“The testing we’ve undertaken with Protoura Race cannot be understated – from the IDIADA facilities in Spain to iconic motor racing circuits such as Silverstone and Spain’s Calafat Circuit – it’s going to be exciting to see it in a real-world racing environment.”
Tom Halliwell and Rob Austin, Co-Directors of MINI CHALLENGE CLUBSPORT, added:
“Starting a new partnership with leading UK tyre manufacturer, Davanti Tyres, is a natural fit for the MINI CHALLENGE CLUBSPORT championship. With a competitive grid, we’re excited to have a brand-new control tyre to allow our racers to perform to the best of their abilities on race weekends. With the high levels of research and development which has gone into the Protoura Race, we can’t wait to see it out on track.
“Thanks to a three-year partnership, there will be plenty of other activations happening with Davanti Tyres and our championship – watch this space.”
