Texas-based hypercar manufacturer, Hennessey, creators of high-performance vehicles, has announced that its ‘VelociRaptoR 6X6’ supertruck, a Ford F-150 Raptor R which has been transformed into an almost unstoppable 6X6, will be going into full production.
Utilising a third-generation Ford F-150 Raptor R as its foundation, the ‘VelociRaptoR 6X6,’ is fitted with an extended boxed frame and a second, fully functional dual locking rear axle, improving tractive grip by over 50 percent.
The vehicle’s suspension is the most advanced off-road suspension available on a production vehicle and is fitted with Live Valve Fox dampers. The body has been lifted three inches so as to accommodate Hennessey’s custom 20-inch alloy wheels that are shod with large 37-inch off-road tyres.
The large 8-foot (2.4 metre) long load bed replaces the standard 5.5-foot (1.67 metre) bed, improving cargo capacity by over 45 percent.
New front and rear bumpers mould nicely with the mechanical upgrades, as well as new LED off-road lights and unique Hennessey VelociRaptoR badging.
There is no getting away from the fact that the ‘VelociRaptoR 6X6’ is a massive machine, being almost 27 feet long, roughly 7 feet tall and 7 feet wide, with a curb weight of around 6,500 pounds.
At the heart of the vehicle is the standard Ford Raptor R engine, a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 unit that has been left untouched and gives out a whopping 700 bhp at 6,650 rpm and 640 lb-ft torque at 4,250 rpm, providing more than enough power to ensure that it dominates both on and off-road.
Hennessey is the world’s largest producer of modified Ford F-150 Raptors, having built thousands of high-performance VelociRaptor trucks for customers around the world. Therefore, taking these trucks to the extreme ‘6X6’ stage is second nature to company’s engineers and its huge 6X6 remains one of its most impressive builds.
John Hennessey, company founder and CEO, commented on the ‘VelociRaptoR 6X6’, saying:

This is by no means the first time that Hennessey has made a 6×6 truck. Their range of exclusive and competent 6X6 trucks includes the RAM-based MAMMOTH 6X6 TRX and Chevrolet-based GOLIATH 6X6 Silverado.
