Polestar Improves Public Charging Across Europe

Polestar EV Charging

Polestar is continuing to expand its public charging network offering across Europe, making it easier and more convenient for drivers to charge their vehicles on the road. The company now provides access to more than 28,000 Plug & Charge compatible stations and has fully integrated the Tesla Supercharger network into the Polestar Charge app.

Plug & Charge technology simplifies the charging process by allowing the vehicle to communicate directly with the charger. Once connected, the charging session begins automatically, and payment is processed directly. This eliminates the need for cards or any additional steps. The feature is included as a complimentary benefit within Polestar Charge and is currently available at nearly 1,000 compatible stations across the UK, including networks such as IONITY and Allego.

Polestar has also become one of the first manufacturers to fully integrate Tesla Superchargers into its own charging platform. Drivers can now access more than 20,000 Superchargers across over 1,500 European locations directly through the Polestar Charge app, while real-time availability is displayed in the vehicle’s navigation via Google Maps for easier route planning.

Overall, Polestar Charge provides access to more than one million charging points across Europe through a single app, making it one of the continent’s largest public charging networks. It includes major operators such as IONITY, Recharge, TotalEnergies, Fastned, Tesla Supercharger and Allego, alongside local providers across each market.

Polestar also offers a subscription that provides discounted fast charging at more than 80,000 charging stations across 42 operators. Adoption of the service continues to grow, with over 45,000 Polestar Charge users recorded in 2025 which is an increase of 30% compared with 2024.

Olivier Loedel, Head of Product Software Management at Polestar, commented:

“With Polestar Charge we give our customers access to one of the biggest charging networks in Europe. By expanding Plug & Charge and fully integrating Tesla Superchargers, we’re improving our premium seamless charging experience even further. Our strong charging offer, integrated with the in-car navigation in Google Maps, sets us apart from many competitors.”
