Pagani, the art-deco hypercar manufacturer, revealed its latest one-off commission at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed along with a collection of past and present Pagani on the Cartier Lawn that included the Imola Roadster, unveiled for the first time. There was also a pop-top version of the road-legal Huayra variant, of which only eight will be made.

The one-off Epitome is based on the Huayra and features a number of unique elements that include a new front bumper with bespoke day-running lights, a bespoke Ferrari F50-esque rear wing and for the first time ever in a Huayra, a stick-and-three-pedals manual gearbox.

This is in fact, the first Huayra in the model’s 13 year production run to have a manual gearbox. The seven-speed unit comes from the Utopia and together with its unique body kit and seven-spoke Imola wheels, make the Epitome an impressive looking one-off example of this exceptional Italian marque.

The Epitome is distinguishable by its all blue carbon with small gold highlights, in contrast to the dual tone theme you see in the majority of Paganis. The contemporary interior is tan-trimmed in leather and is somewhat reminiscent of the first Huayra from 2011, though of course this special one-off example features the gated seven-speed manual shifter coupled to the twin-turbo AMG V12 engine.

The Pagani Epitome is an expression of commitment in taking a hypercar to a new level of prestige, innovation and customisation. The design focusses on clean lines and elegance with a novel shape to the front and rear bumpers and front bonnet with exclusive light clusters. There is a new wheel arch air extraction system and rear bonnet that has enlarged lateral ducts and an integrated spoiler.

The seven-speed manual transverse gearbox has a reinforced transmission system so it can withstand the increased torque and power. The Epitome is fitted with exclusive forged aluminium alloy monolithic wheels designed with a larger front dimension, maintaining the iconic Roadster style but lightweight for track use. The wheels are shod with Pirelli P Zero™ Trofeo R tyres to give outstanding grip.

In contrast, the open-top Imola Roadster has been designed to deliver sensational performance both on the road and track and is completely road-legal for worldwide driving. It is the result of sophisticated aerodynamic studies which optimised air flows and body shapes to increase downforce in all driving conditions. The evolved and enhanced Pagani V12 engine delivers 850 hp at 5,600 rpm and 1,100 Nm of torque between 3,600 and 5,600 rpm. This delivers breathtaking performance as the car only weighs 1,260 kg (2,778 lbs).

Goodwood hosted 11 Paganis at this year’s Festival of Speed which is two percent of the total number of Paganis in the world, given that less than 500 cars have been built since 1999.
