Europcar has expanded its electric vehicle range by adding the Polestar 4 to its fleet for leisure drivers in the UK to rent, as well as offering their Europcar Delivery & Collection for added convenience. So, if you are considering switching to an electric car anytime soon, then this is a great commitment-free way to try out long range electric motoring to see whether it’s for you.
The other advantage is that you don’t have to worry about returning the car with a full charge as all Europcar electric vehicles are given to you at the start of the rental period with a minimum 80% charge. All you have to do is ensure that the vehicle is returned with a minimum battery charge of only 20%, making this a stress-free way of renting an EV.
The Polestar 4 itself offers a rather unique driving experience, with its dual identity as a performance SUV as well as being an innovative coupé. It is fitted with a 100kWh battery which gives the car an impressive long driving range of up to 385 miles (WLTP) along with a fast charging capability, making it the perfect all-round electric car.
Polestar have designed and engineered it to give the driver SUV comfort with sports coupé handling and performance, offering a luxury experience for both the driver and passengers, regardless of how far you are travelling.
Tom Middleditch, Head of Electric Mobility at Europcar, commented:
“We are excited to add the innovative Polestar 4 to the Europcar fleet, with its long battery range and advanced driver assistance and infotainment features. This is a great introductory vehicle for even the most inexperienced electric car driver.
“Like Europcar, Polestar’s goal is to make electric driving accessible to as many drivers as possible, so we’re excited to be the first major rental company to make it available for use for just a few days, weeks or months. It will give motorists a real-world ‘test drive’ experience.”
And when it comes to charging, the Polestar 4 uses the standard EU type 2 connector, which is compatible with over 600 providers and 850,000 charging points right across Europe, providing fast charging, from 10% to 80% in as little as 30 minutes, based on 200kW rapid DC charging.
Middleditch adds:
“At Europcar we are continually increasing our range of low and zero tailpipe emission vehicle options for our customers, facilitating a gradual transition towards zero tailpipe emissions motoring in the coming years. The Europcar electric rental service is all about helping motorists try electric driving in real-world conditions, before making a long-term investment to purchase a new vehicle. As such, it is vital that we provide our customers with access to a range of vehicles from value to premium, and from compact hatchback to luxury SUV to meet the requirements of every journey. The Polestar 4 is, therefore, the perfect addition.”
