Oak Tyres, the UK-based independent tyre wholesaler based in the north west of England, has strengthened its operational capabilities with the recent opening of a brand-new 90,000 sq ft storage and distribution facility in Warrington, Cheshire.

Since 1980, Oak Tyres has been an important business in the tyre industry and across the region and this expansion will allow the company to grow further. The new facility will also help improve service levels and increase the group’s stock capacity so that it can serve its customers better.

This is Oak’s seventh warehouse across the north west, and is close to its two existing warehouses in Haydock. The new warehouse in Warrington means that the brand can boost the efficiency of its deliveries to customers across the whole of the region as well as further afield, so as to give continued prompt delivery times and increasing overall accessibility to Oak’s range of products.

Peter Cross, Oak Tyres’ Commercial Director, commented:

“This expansion is a huge milestone for us, and one that signifies and reinforces our position as a market leader in the tyre industry.

“We know our customers value efficiency, and so this investment not only supports the growth of our brand but also demonstrates our commitment to delivering quality service for our customers.”

By 1990 Oak had become an established wholesaler in the north west, running its operations from a number of small warehouses across Liverpool and Cheshire. 35 years later, the group now has over 650,000 sq ft of warehouse space split between Haydock, St Helens, Trafford Park, Washington, Leeds and now Warrington.

Cross concluded by saying:

“The strategic addition to our warehouse network positions Oak Tyres for future growth, ensuring that we continue to meet increasing demand while maintaining the high standards of service and reliability that customers have come to expect.”
