The recent 82nd Members’ Meeting which took place over the weekend of the 12th and 13th April, saw Gordon Murray Automotive taking centre stage on Brooklands Lawn, following the company’s public debut at the 78th Members’ Meeting in 2021, with a stunning collection of cars that included the T.33, T.50s track car, as well as a range of superbly engineered GMA V12 engines.
Whether it’s sitting in the back of the T.33, the T.50 or the T.50s, the 3.9-litre Cosworth V12 has got to be one of the greatest sounding engines on the planet!
Three-time IndyCar Champion Dario Franchitti got behind the wheel of the T.50s, which he drove last year at the 81st Members’ Meeting when the car was unveiled for the first time, and took it for some full throttle demonstration laps of the Goodwood circuit, driving it flat out in places as the 400mm fan generated a vast amount of downforce to keep the car firmly planted on the track.

In fact, Franchitti has been involved in the development of all of GMA’s cars, so it was only fitting that he should be doing the demonstration. And one of the unique things that appeals to those who attend the Members’ Meetings is the chance to see cars like the GMA T.50s being pushed its limits around the Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Apart from seeing the car in action on the track, members of the GRRC were able to get up close and personal to both the T.50s and T.33, while a separate display in the paddocks showcased the almost 60 years of Gordon Murray’s work in design and engineering and his incredible achievements in the industry. It was also a celebration of the beginning of deliveries for the company’s original car, the T.50 that was first shown at the 78th Members’ Meeting in 2021, with eight of the cars making it out onto the circuit for an impressive parade on Saturday morning.
The Duke of Richmond CBE DL commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Gordon and his team to the Members’ Meeting for the fifth consecutive year. Our guests always look forward to seeing the iconic and unique cars Gordon has designed up close, and having witnessed the debut of the T.33 Spider and T.50s in recent years, the on-track moment will be nothing short of fantastic.”

Gordon Murray Automotive will continue to be celebrated at this year’s Festival of Speed which take place from 10th to 13th July 2025, with the marque headlining the Central Feature sculpture marking Professor Gordon Murray’s incredible 60-year career.
Professor Gordon Murray CBE, commented:
“For 60 years I have enjoyed the design and engineering challenge of pushing the boundaries of what’s possible – be that in racing or road cars. The supercars that Gordon Murray Automotive builds today are inspired by every car I’ve designed, raced and owned. Lightweight design, innovative use of materials, the latest technologies, and even bending the laws of physics come into all we do. I am thrilled we will celebrate my 60th anniversary of design and the driver-centric cars we produce today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.”
